About Lefkimmi Lines

Lefkimmi Lines is, in its own words, a Greek company of Lefkimmiot interests: the operator of the car ferry between Igoumenitsa on the mainland and the port of Lefkimmi in the south of Corfu. It is the reason Corfu has two ferry ports. The crossing is shorter than the main line to Corfu Town, about 50 minutes, and lands about 30 kilometres south of the capital, close to Kavos and the beaches of the south coast. Tickets are sold online as e-tickets, which let you board directly without queuing at the ticket office, and by phone at the company's Lefkimmi and Igoumenitsa numbers.

The ships

Two car ferries work the line: the F/B Agia Triada, which the company describes as sailing daily with clean indoor and outdoor spaces for a comfortable trip, and the F/B Ioannis Kapodistrias. Both carry passengers and vehicles on a crossing of under an hour. Booking sites sometimes list the Ioannis Kapodistrias sailings under a separate operator name, Makedonia IV; the ship, the port and the conditions are those of Lefkimmi Lines.

Routes from this site

Igoumenitsa - Lefkimmi takes about 50 minutes, with up to six departures a day in the summer timetable shared between the two ships. Lefkimmi Lines also publishes Lefkimmi - Paxos timetables: the connecting boat from Lefkimmi to Gaios is run by Kamelia Lines, and travellers from Igoumenitsa book the car ferry with Lefkimmi Lines and the Paxos boat with Kamelia Lines. All departures are in the timetable.

Check-in, vehicles and pets

Foot passengers should be at the ship half an hour before the scheduled departure, vehicles in the waiting area one hour before. When booking, the company asks for accurate identity details, a phone number and an email address; reduced fares require the proving document at boarding, and hand luggage up to 50 kilos is included. Cars, motorhomes and motorcycles are booked with the ticket; electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles may board only with a battery charge of up to 40 per cent and must not be charged on board, vehicles on alternative fuels with the tank at most half full. Only small pets may accompany their owners inside, in a basket or carrier or muzzled and vaccinated, with the animal's health book to hand.

Tickets

Fares are per passenger with the vehicle by category. Cancellations are refunded in full more than a week before departure, at 75 per cent up to a week before, at 50 per cent up to three days before and not at all within 24 hours of sailing. The binding amount for your date appears in the booking step, and the Lefkimmi departures are listed as their own route in the timetable.
