About Makedonia IV

Makedonia IV is a name you meet when you book the southern crossing to Corfu: booking sites list the Igoumenitsa - Lefkimmi car ferries under two operator names, Lefkimmi Lines and Makedonia IV, each with about half of the daily departures and the same 50-minute crossing. On the operator's side there is one company. Lefkimmi Lines lists two ships in its fleet, the F/B Agia Triada and the F/B Ioannis Kapodistrias, and the Ioannis Kapodistrias is the ship behind the Makedonia IV listing. Whichever name your booking shows, you sail from the same port on the same conditions.

The ship

The Ioannis Kapodistrias is a car ferry for passengers and vehicles on a crossing of under an hour. Lefkimmi Lines works the line with the Ioannis Kapodistrias and the Agia Triada together, so the two names on the booking sites are two ships of one timetable.

Routes from this site

Igoumenitsa - Lefkimmi takes about 50 minutes from the mainland port to Lefkimmi in the south of Corfu, about 30 kilometres south of Corfu Town and close to Kavos, with up to six departures a day in the summer timetable across both ships. The connecting boat from Lefkimmi to Paxos is run by Kamelia Lines. The departures are in the timetable.

Check-in, vehicles and pets

Foot passengers should be at the ship half an hour before departure, vehicles in the waiting area one hour before; the e-ticket on the phone or printed lets you board directly, and reduced fares require the proving document at boarding. Vehicles are booked with the ticket; electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles may board only with a battery charge of up to 40 per cent and must not be charged on board, vehicles on alternative fuels with the tank at most half full. Only small pets may accompany their owners inside, in a basket or carrier or muzzled and vaccinated, with the animal's health book to hand. Hand luggage up to 50 kilos is included.

Tickets

Fares are per passenger with the vehicle by category. Cancellations are refunded in full more than a week before departure, at 75 per cent up to a week before, at 50 per cent up to three days before and not at all within 24 hours of sailing. The binding amount for your date appears in the booking step.
