Getting to the port and the terminal
Bari's ferry port lies directly north of the old town, a few minutes from the ring road, and the Greece ferries use the passenger terminal area of the port. Ventouris Ferries has no self-service check-in: you present your booking number and an identity document to the company's port agents, who issue the boarding pass. Allow time for the port gate and the vehicle lanes, especially on summer weekends when the Albania and Greece departures leave within the same evening.
Check-in and departure
Ventouris Ferries asks every passenger to be in the embarkation area at least two hours before departure; check-in closes one hour before sailing, and passengers with a motorhome, caravan or other large vehicle are advised to come three hours early. Drivers show the vehicle's documents at check-in. The ship sails in the evening, so the check-in window falls in the late afternoon; once the vehicle is parked in its pre-arranged position in the garage, you cannot return to it before Corfu.
On board
The Rigel V and the Rigel VII are conventional ferries for around 1,000 to 1,500 passengers with some 550 vehicle spaces each; the Rigel V's interiors were renovated in 2025, the Rigel VII's in 2020. Accommodation runs from deck passage through air seats to cabins in several classes, from the basic C category to LUX. On board are a restaurant and a self-service with Mediterranean dishes, bars, shops and Wi-Fi via satellite. For a ten-hour night crossing an air seat is the minimum worth booking; a cabin turns the crossing into a night's sleep.
Vehicles, bicycles and pets
Cars, motorcycles and motorhomes are booked with the ticket; the motorhome fare depends on the overall length, and staying inside the vehicle during the crossing is prohibited. Pets travel free of charge in the kennel area, in cages of various sizes that must be booked in advance; they are not allowed in bars, restaurants and other indoor areas or in the vehicles, and on the open deck they stay with the owner. Bring the pet passport with a valid rabies vaccination and the microchip identification. Assistance dogs are exempt from the kennel rule. Luggage is not limited by weight.
Arrival and onward travel
The ferry docks in the morning at the New Port in Corfu Town, on the coastal road that becomes Ethnikis Antistaseos street next to the port. From there the old town is a short taxi ride, buses connect to the north and south of the island, and the domestic ferries to Igoumenitsa and Paxos leave from the same port area. For the return, the Corfu - Bari sailing is booked separately; both directions and their dates are in the timetable.
Tickets and fares
The fare is made up of the passenger fare by accommodation class, the vehicle by category and any cabin supplements; children travel at reduced fares and return tickets are discounted. Cancellation refunds fall in steps as departure approaches and end 24 hours before sailing; a no-show is not refunded. If Bari does not fit your dates, the shorter Brindisi crossing and the longer Ancona run are compared on the Corfu ferry overview.
Bari - Corfu
Bari and Corfu at a glance
Bari is the middle of the three Italian ports with a summer ferry to Corfu. Ventouris Ferries sails the crossing overnight in about 10 hours with the Rigel V and the Rigel VII, conventional ferries with cabins, air seats, deck passage and garages for cars, motorhomes and motorcycles.
The route is seasonal and the rhythm is weekly, not daily: three sailings a week in the summer timetable, and the 2026 calls end in early September. Superfast Ferries also lists Corfu on its Bari line in its own season, so compare both for your date.

Frequently asked questions
Questions about the Bari - Corfu crossing.
How long does the Bari to Corfu ferry take? +
About 10 hours with Ventouris Ferries; the ship leaves Bari in the evening and reaches the New Port in Corfu Town in the morning. Because the crossing runs overnight, a cabin or an air seat is worth the supplement over deck passage. The times for your date are in the timetable.
How early do I need to be at the port in Bari? +
Ventouris Ferries asks passengers to be in the embarkation area at least two hours before departure; check-in closes one hour before sailing. With a motorhome, caravan or other large vehicle the operator recommends three hours. You collect the boarding pass from the port agents at check-in with your booking number and a valid identity document.
Is the route seasonal? +
Yes. Ventouris Ferries runs Bari - Corfu in the summer season only, three times a week in the timetable, and the 2026 calls end in early September. The year-round Ventouris service from Bari is the Albania line to Durres, not Corfu, so check the dated timetable for your date before you drive to Bari.
Can I take a car or motorhome? +
Yes. Cars, motorcycles and motorhomes travel in the garage and are booked with the ticket; the motorhome fare depends on the total length, and staying in the vehicle during the crossing is not allowed. Vehicles are parked in pre-arranged positions, so once loaded you cannot get back to the car until Corfu. Bring the vehicle documents to check-in.
Are pets allowed on board? +
Yes, at no extra charge. Pets travel in the ship's kennel area in cages of various sizes, which must be booked in advance, and are not allowed indoors or in the vehicles; on deck they stay with the owner. Bring the pet passport with valid rabies vaccination and microchip identification to check-in.
How do fares and cancellation work? +
Ventouris Ferries sells cabins in several classes from LUX to C, air seats and deck passage, plus the vehicle by category; children and return tickets carry discounts. Cancellations are refunded on a sliding scale that drops the closer you cancel to departure and ends 24 hours before sailing.
