Getting to the port and the terminal
The Venice ferry leaves from the New Port in Corfu Town, the international side of the port on the coastal road that becomes Ethnikis Antistaseos street. Check-in for the Bari and Venice lines is handled by the operator's agent at 22 Ethnikis Antistaseos, in the New Port; arriving by car, follow the "Corfu Town" and "Corfu port" signs along the coast road, arriving from the domestic ferries, you are already in the right port area.
Check-in and departure
Check-in is compulsory and the boarding cards are issued there. In Corfu the operator recommends being at the port two hours before departure with or without a vehicle; check-in closes 30 minutes before sailing. On the Adriatic lines the travel documents are checked at the port office before boarding, so every passenger, children included, needs a valid passport or identity card, and drivers the vehicle's registration. Web check-in delivers the e-ticket from 48 hours up to two hours before departure; tickets collected at the port agencies must be picked up at least three hours before sailing. After check-in, vehicles wait in the parking area outside the ship until loading.
On board
The crossing takes about 25 hours 15 minutes, a full day and a night. The Superfast III (built 2000) and Superfast IV (2001) are 204-metre ships for 1,850 passengers with around 700 to 800 berths, garages of more than 2,500 lane metres and a service speed of 30 knots. Accommodation runs from deck passage and seats to inside and outside cabins, cabins for passengers with reduced mobility and pet cabins; on board are a self-service and an à la carte restaurant, café-bars, an open-deck bar, a kids' corner, a shop and Wi-Fi. Book a cabin for this crossing; it is the difference between a night's sleep and a very long day.
Vehicles, bicycles and pets
Cars, motorhomes and motorcycles are booked with the ticket. Motorhomes and caravans keep the LPG or gas supply closed during the trip; electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles must be declared at booking and may board only with a battery charge of up to 40 per cent, LPG or natural gas vehicles with a tank at most half full. Pets are registered in the booking and travel in the kennels or in one of the few pet cabins, both reserved in advance; they need valid health documents, for EU travellers the EU pet passport with rabies vaccination, are not allowed indoors and wear a muzzle and lead on the open decks. Certified assistance dogs may stay with their owner.
Arrival and onward travel
The ship docks at the Terminal Fusina Ferries, Via dell'Elettronica, on the mainland shore of the lagoon south of Marghera. It is a road terminal: with a vehicle you reach the motorway network around Mestre within minutes; without one, plan the last leg into Venice or to Mestre station and check the boat and bus connections from Fusina for your arrival time. The return from Venice to Corfu is booked as its own sailing, with the same weekly rhythm; both directions are in the timetable.
Tickets and fares
The fare depends on the date, the cabin or seat category and the vehicle; the binding amount appears in the booking step. Cancellations are refunded on a sliding scale that starts at a full refund several weeks before departure and ends 24 hours before sailing, and a no-show is not refunded.
